woohoo! it's christmas! merry christmas!
yesterday my squad held a 'party' at my house. why party in inverted commas? because all we did was talk and eat, i didn't really have anything for them to do, and i also didn't know what they wanted to do over at my house, so yeah. and the stupid dvd player had to break down. of all times to break down, it had to break down the day before... so it was quite a boring party. but i think we seldom have a chance like that to sit down and talk, so yeah...
just came back from my auntie's house. had a christmas gathering cum dinner there. wee~ lots of nice food there! one reason why i love christmas is because there's always so much nice food cos all my aunties are either very good cooks or they know where to get nice food. it was a little boring there though, cos in the past i used to go there and play video games with my cousin, but now the ps is gone, and the games he plays are not my kind anymore, so basically i had nothing to do there other than chatting with my relatives. but my younger cousins are a fun lot (or maybe more of cute than fun), like how elliot looked so glum after he woke up and 'found himself in an unfamiliar place', according to yeezhai. gavan was gloomy throughout, cos he couldn't play computer games.
gift exchange was chaotic. the rules weren't clear, even the organisers were not sure of how it was supposed to go cos this year they decided to do it differently (instead of just labelling the presents and picking the numbers to see which present you get). it's too complicated to explain here, but just know it was very chaotic. we all thought the game was supposed to work one way, but then halfway (more like 3/4 way) through the game, uncle ong suddenly said it was supposed to work another way. until now i'm still not clear, and i don't think anyone is other than uncle ong, about how the thing is actually supposed to work. but anyway, it was quite unfair cos if you are no.1 you are the unluckiest, and everyone can snatch your present away. but for the last person it's a total different story. you can take anyone else's present, as long as you like it, so it was very unfair, and all the lousy presents were left for no.1. i'm never gonna take part in any gift exchange like that, in case some people leave very unhappy, and 'tis no longer the season to be jolly'.
just to list some presents i got for christmas:
daddy & mummy - ipod classic
popo - flip flops and a toy mouse
dai coufu & family (they spelt my name wrongly again...) - a long-sleeved shirt
coufu & family - a POOH BEAR mug! (they know me so well, even the wrapper had pooh bear on it)
samyee & family - the book ENGLISH AS IT IS BROKEN (according to samyee, jasmine-jiejie chose the book - she knows me so well ok, i have been wanting to buy this book for a very long time)
yeezhai & family - a cross bookmark & a necklace
steffy jiejie - a shirt of a colour i like (she knows me well too!)
uncle simon & family - a pair of earrings(which broke the moment i took them out cos the stuff had dropped out and i was trying to put it back in when suddenly the metal snapped)
uncle daniel & family - some bath set (there was a scrubber, body lotion, bubble bath and shampoo and shower gel)
shaoting - tweety badge from gold coast and a nice card
prisicilla - a bookmark which she made herself (mummy even said she was very creative)
gift exchange (our squad one) - a clock radio which zhi-yi bought (so happened the wrapper had pooh bear on it)
gift from church for all people helping out - MP3 player which looks something like ipod shuffle but isn't (it actually looks a lot like it, but if you really look closely you'll be able to tell the difference)
ok, now that christmas is over (at least the first day), i have to start doing all my homework. so sickening... school is starting in a week's time. hais... :(
this afternoon i happened to watch a travel show on channel 8 about taiwan, and it brought back many wonderful memories of my trip to taiwan in june. maybe 1 day i should reminisce about the trip in a post on the blog... i miss taiwan... daddy keeps saying we'll go back 'someday', but i wonder when this 'day' is gonna come. i hope it comes soon, maybe next december when it's winter in taiwan. it'll super cool to go around during winter! =D
ok, really tired now, wanna go sleep already. goodbye and MERRY CHRISTMAS again!!! =D
