woohoo! yesterday and today were very fruitful for me and my parents. i managed to get out of the house to go shopping, and my parents got all the presents they need (or at least i think so).

YESTERDAY

woke up at about 10, lazed in bed until about 11. actually no, i was watching tv. but it's already considered quite early (i normally wake up at 12 during the holidays). then went out with my parents for lunch. went to plaza sing after that cos mummy wanted to buy some stuff from spotlight. got there and went up to spotlight.

first thing i saw, a really cute mug that i bought as a present. then mummy got a piggy bank (ok literally a PIGgy bank, get it?) for gavan when she already had another present for him cos i managed to persuade her that it was more practical than the previous one that she had bought. daddy was staring at this 20 pcs container set for as long as we were at that section cos he was so attracted by the price, but he didn't buy it in the end. next he saw this 19 pcs knife set, but still didn't buy it. same thing happened for the 4 pcs coffee set (or so it claims when in actual fact it was only a flask, 2 mugs and a bag). ok moving on, we went to the knitting section where mummy bought this container-bag-wool holder-whatever thingy that was meant for popo as a christmas present. actually our main aim was to get this sheep bag, but then it was too small, and i don't think popo would bring anything like that out.

then we went to daiso and i bought some more presents. we also bought hair clips for auntie. they're cheap but nice ok? anyway i didn't spend much time there cos i pretty much had an idea of what i was going to get there so the moment i went in i just grabbed the stuff that i wanted, paid (although the queue was super long), and left.

then we decided to go to chinatown. we took a bus from outside plaza sing, and something happened. i don't know if i would say it was funny, embarassing (not for me though). ok, here goes. daddy was walking in front, and i was walking behind him. mummy was following me, but then she saw this epson bus and thought it was very cute cos it was parked in the middle of the pathway, so she stopped to look at it. but then 174 came and me and daddy walked up the bus. before we knew it, the doors closed and mummy was left behind at the bus stop. even so, she was oblivious to her surroundings and continued 'talking to me'. ok, finally she realised that we were gone and smsed us. but in the end she still got to chinatown lar.

then we got to chinatown and went to drink coffee first. wah, we walked past this chinese medicine shop and i couldn't walk past that shop even once without covering my nose. i already can't stand the smell of TCM shops to start with, but it's not as bad as this one. this one, it was a mixture of really foul-smelling 茶叶蛋 (as in, not the normal smell) and really bitter chinese medicine (i.e. just really really bitter and BAD). even mummy couldn't stand it lar.

we went to this christian shop at people's park to buy some CDs, but then the stupid guy at the shop (i.e. the shopkeeper) kept rattling non-stop. all i wanted to do was try to look at the only few english CDs he had to see if there were any i like, but then he kept talking and SINGING along to the songs super loudly, and kept on recommending CDs to me. in the first place i didn't even say i wanted to buy any. but anyway, the other reason why i couldn't stand him was cos all i was doing was looking at the CDs and he kept preaching to me like i was a pre-believer. i think he should have saved his breath for other pre-believers and not a believer like me. it would have been more constructive. another thing. he was playing a few songs for my parents to hear so they could see which was suitable for anyone they knew, but he kept changing the discs every few minutes, and changing the songs every 30 seconds to 1 minute, and he STILL sang along. he also kept giving us irrelevant info on useless things that we obviously didn't need to know. ok, it's good to have product knowledge, but not good to show it off to people who are not interested in knowing. how glad was i when we finally got out of that place. i am so not going back to that shop ever again.

then we took 190 back home, and got stuck for about 20 minutes at a stretch of road near cineleisure and taka that was less than 500m. that was how bad the jam was. good thing we were travelling by expressway. finally got home at about 6+, had dinner and then started wrapping presents. slept quite late, at around 2+.

TODAY

went to plaza sing AGAIN. this time with popo and steffy-jiejie. first went for dental appt at 12 at dhoby exchange and changed the colour of my braces to... RED & GREEN! it's CHRISTMAS mah... was late by 15 minutes and got scolded by the dentist. told him it was cos there was a jam, but in actual fact it was also cos i spent so much time waiting for coufu to come down and fetch us cos popo insisted that we go out with him, and also cos steffy-jiejie took so long to come to the interchange and meet us.

went to eat 锅贴 and noodles at some shop at plaza sing B2. then walked around shopping for popo's presents for grabriel and kor and steffy-jiejie's presents for most of us. it wasn't too fruitful though, we didn't manage to get anything.

went up to spotlight cos popo wanted to buy some wool, but in the end she didn't buy anything. then we decided to get kor a 4x4 rubik's cube, so we walked to paragon. on the way we passed by this shop selling china-styled clothing, and some of the clothes there were quite attractive, but in the end still didn't buy anything.

went to OG and popo bought a white shirt from GIORDANO. so weird, cos everywhere we went there were gio outlets. she didn't exactly buy it, cos me and steffy-jiejie paid for it. it wasn't too ex lar, and popo kept complaining she had no money, but it was obvious she really wanted it a lot. she wanted to pay but in the end we paid.

finally got to paragon and went to toys'r'us. saw the cube but there were only two left. some guy took the good one, so we were left with the one that had a really lan container. lan as in really 烂掉. there were holes in the plastic both inside and outside. at first we thought we could get a discount for it, and we did get a $4 discount, but then we found out that there were other problems with the damn thing, so we didn't buy it. wasted our time walking there.

came home at about 6+ again. took dinner and just watched tv. damn tired now, after walking for the whole day and only managing to buy 1 shirt and 2 tank tops (not for me of course). eyelids can barely stay open... *yawn* ok shall stop here now.
